Advancing Compassionate Wound Care Through Clinical Training, CSR Outreach & Healthcare Collaboration
On 24 May 2026, Ionic Global together with PERDIM successfully conducted the Wound Care Management Training at Klinik Khidmat, Setapak, Kuala Lumpur, bringing together healthcare practitioners for a meaningful session focused on practical wound care management, clinical knowledge sharing, and community healthcare support.
The programme was attended by PERDIM committee members including Dr Hanafi Yahya, Dr Wan, and Dr Nasa, alongside 16 healthcare participants comprising PERDIM members and non-members.
The training session featured valuable sharing and demonstrations by:
- Dr Clement Limus Apong — Wound Specialist
- Monica Loh — Ionic Global Business Development Director
Programme highlights included:
- Introduction to the programme
- Introduction to HOCl Solution
- Clinical case presentation
- Practical dressing demonstration
One of the most meaningful aspects of the programme was the incorporation of a real CSR wound care practical session, where participants were exposed to actual wound management cases involving a homeless individual requiring immediate wound care attention.
During the live demonstration, Dr Clement Limus Apong performed wound cleansing and dressing using Antaviro HOCl solution. Participants were able to directly observe the wound management process, including the immediate reduction of unpleasant wound odour after the application of Antaviro, providing practical insight into wound hygiene management within real community healthcare settings.
The session served not only as a clinical educational platform, but also as a reminder of the importance of compassionate healthcare service and practical community outreach, especially for underserved groups requiring proper wound care support.
The programme also forms part of the growing collaboration between PERDIM and Ionic Global in strengthening evidence-based wound care awareness and supporting the MADOCS Real-World Evidence (RWE) Case Study initiatives.
Special appreciation is extended to PERDIM for successfully bringing this initiative across 3 states, achieving full participation at every stop, with a total of 32 doctors trained and enrolled for the case study initiative.
Through continuous education, collaboration, and community-focused healthcare efforts, Ionic Global remains committed towards advancing safer, more effective, and evidence-driven wound care solutions for both healthcare professionals and the wider community.
