Proudly Pioneering Wound Care Evidence in Malaysian Primary Care
Ionic Global is honoured to collaborate with PERDIM in launching Malaysia’s first GP-led wound care case study initiative, marking an important milestone in strengthening wound care awareness, practical clinical education, and evidence-based healthcare development within Malaysian primary care settings.
This 8-week case study programme involves participating General Practitioners (GPs) from Melaka, Selangor, Kuala Lumpur, Terengganu, and Kelantan, bringing together healthcare practitioners from different regions to collectively contribute towards real-world wound care observation, patient case documentation, and clinical experience sharing.
The initiative reflects a shared commitment between PERDIM and Ionic Global to encourage stronger clinical engagement, practical learning, and continuous healthcare improvement in the field of wound management. As wound-related complications continue to affect many patients, especially in cases involving diabetic wounds, chronic ulcers, post-procedure wounds, and infection-related conditions, the importance of practical wound care understanding within primary care clinics continues to grow significantly.
Traditionally, advanced wound care discussions and evidence collection have often been concentrated within hospital environments or specialist settings. However, primary care clinics remain one of the earliest and most important healthcare touchpoints for patients seeking treatment and wound management support. Through this GP-led initiative, participating clinics are able to contribute valuable real-world observations and practical insights that may further strengthen future wound care understanding in community healthcare environments.
The programme also encourages continuous clinical collaboration, case-sharing, and practical discussions among healthcare practitioners while supporting more structured documentation and monitoring of wound healing progression over the 8-week duration.
As part of the initiative, Ionic Global also supports participating practitioners through healthcare education and product awareness involving IGTech and Antaviro Wound Care solutions. Developed with a focus on modern wound management environments, Antaviro Wound Care is designed to support wound cleansing and create a more favourable wound healing environment for patients within clinics and healthcare settings.
By combining practical case studies, healthcare education, and responsible innovation, Ionic Global hopes to contribute towards better wound care awareness, stronger clinical confidence, and improved patient care experiences across Malaysian primary healthcare communities.
This initiative represents more than a case study programme — it reflects a growing movement towards collaborative healthcare development, where doctors, healthcare organisations, and industry partners work together to strengthen evidence-informed wound care practices for the benefit of both healthcare practitioners and patients.
Ionic Global would like to express our sincere appreciation to PERDIM and all participating doctors for their dedication, professional commitment, and willingness to contribute towards advancing wound care understanding within Malaysian primary care practice.
Together, we look forward to shaping a more informed, collaborative, and patient-centred future for wound care management in Malaysia.
